Access control

Glossary - General information

Access control is necessary wherever stored goods have to be reliably protected against unauthorised access. This may be the case in industrial companies where valuable tools, measuring instruments and other valuable items have to be protected, as well as in laboratories and hospitals where samples, medicines or hazardous substances must be kept securely under lock and key. If access control takes place electronically, this is known as an access control system.

An access control system generally consists of hardware and software. The hardware is usually a cabinet or drawer cabinet, the locking of which can be individually controlled and managed by suitable software. With LISTA Electronic Control, LISTA offers a unique access control system, which additionally includes drawer inserts with individual compartments for multi-level access control at cabinet, drawer or compartment level.
