Lista and Thur Metall join forces

Lista, the world’s leading manufacturer of metal drawer systems and selected complementary products for workshop equipment and storage systems, based in Erlen, Canton of Thurgau, is to acquire Thur Metall AG from the previous owner and managing director, Werner Siegenthaler. An agreement in principle has been signed and closure is planned by mid-August at the latest, after completion of the due diligence procedure.

Lista and Thur Metall make perfect partners. Both companies are proven specialists in sheet metal working and occupy leading positions in the manufacture and sale of top quality workshop equipment and storage systems. Both businesses also look back on a long history, and are firmly anchored in the local Thurgau region. These links will be maintained in the future. The sale to Lista will allow the previous managing director, Werner Siegenthaler, who will be 60 next year, and his son, Tobias Siegenthaler, to conclude their business succession arrangements; for Lista, this acquisition represents a major step forward in the implementation of its stated growth strategy.

 

Werner and Tobias Siegenthaler will remain with Thur Metall AG in the new structure, playing an active role in helping to ensure that the process of integration in the Lista Group goes smoothly. The Engwilen site is to be retained and will be tasked with the ongoing development of expertise in the provision of customer-specific solutions.

 

The tradition-steeped Thur Metall AG, based in Engwilen, Canton of Thurgau, has manufactured workshop equipment and storage systems for the past fifty years. Its products are geared to the specific needs of a broad client base consisting mainly of specialist dealers and trade representatives from throughout Europe. Thur Metall AG employs some 60 people and generated invoiced sales of CHF 17 million in 2006.
